WESTBROOK, Maine — Three people were taken to the hospital on Friday after a two-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger car, according to police.

Westbrook police Sgt. John Hanlon Jr. said in a news release the tractor-trailer was heading westbound on Bridgton Road when the vehicle collided with a car heading eastbound just after 10 a.m. Friday.

The truck’s driver, whom police did not identify, was treated at the scene and then released. The people in the car, whose names also are being withheld by police, were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment.

Members of the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit assisted Westbrook police at the scene, Hanlon said. The accident remains under investigation.

  1. 4:55 – No picture, no names of the people in either vehicle, no identification of whose truck it was, no report on the extent of the injuries … what’s the point of posting the story if there is no story to give us? !
