VAN BUREN – Pauline M. Ouellette, 84, died March 1, 2012, at a Van Buren health care facility. She was born April 21, 1927, in Van Buren, the daughter of Peter and Edna (Cormier) Martin.

She was employed as a cook at Colonial Motor Inn and Borderview Nursing Home for several years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker whose greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved playing cards, bingo, creating handcrafts and cooking, especially pies and fudge. Pauline was a member of Evangeline Circle, Daughters of Isabella for 35 years.

She is survived by five daughters, Norma Hill Ouellette of Willimantic, Conn., and Quincy, Mass., Janet Clavette and husband, Ronald, of Marion, Texas, Sandra Laplante and husband, David, of Caribou, Ida Wiesing and husband, Brent, of Sedgwick and Shirley Caron and husband, Louis, of Van Buren; four sons, Ivan Ouellette and wife, Joan, of Caribou, Ronald Ouellette and wife, May, of Cyr Plantation, Reid Ouellette and wife, Carol, of Springfield, Mass., and Glen Ouellette and wife, Vicky, of Surry; one sister, Carmen Thibodeau and husband, Alban, of Caribou; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Brian Ouellette, in 1969; one grandson, Dustin Oliver, in 2011; and seven siblings, Arlene, Gerald, Norman and Conrad Martin, Freda Doucette, Irene Thibodeau and Gertrude Ouellette.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
