OLD TOWN, Maine — Two men, one a local transient and one who lives in town, were both charged recently with felony burglary after they were caught hanging out in the basement of an apartment complex on Main Street with stolen items, Old Town police Officer Ryan Fitch said Sunday.
After interviewing residents of the multi-unit apartment building, officers determined that John Taylor, 19, a transient, and Anthony Patricelli, 18, of Old Town were using an unused storage unit in the basement of the building, and had collected “numerous items that belonged” to a tenant of the building, the officer said.
“It appears as though someone had been unlawfully staying in the storage unit without the knowledge of the building owners,” Fitch said.
Police were called to the apartment building at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 for a burglary in progress and Sgt. Mike Hashey and Officers Mike Holmes, James Slauenwhite and Fitch converged on the apartment building.
Taylor took off running but was quickly caught by Fitch, and Patricelli was found inside the building.
Patricelli and Taylor were both arrested and charged with felony burglary, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 if convicted, as well as criminal trespassing and theft. They were both taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor and have since been released, a jail official said.

these two look like they have a very bright future ahead of them
Felony theft; a great record.

I miss any? Sorry but I am starting to think that some that comment here are dumber then the people in the stories.
Who Cares!!!
You forgot one:
Thanks to Lepage’s budget cuts, these young men didn’t get the help they needed. He can pay his daughter’s nice cushy salary but he won’t give this transient a nice free permanent place to live. Instead, the poor guy has to live in someone storage locker.
oh please, the budget cuts haven’t even come in to effect yet and why don’t you actually use some common sense and blame these two, and maybe some personal responsibility! And I suppose you will also blame George Bush!!
It’s all free.
Just slide your EBT.
Forgot one, “Bang, Bang” :-)
Redistributing the wealth?
How about loser spelled looser.
Hey if you don’t like it you dont have to read them it’s your choice, and you comment makes you sound the same way
Bushfan: You state that: “I am starting to think that some that comment here are dumber then the people in the stories.” and 41 of them give you a like…. So maybe you are right….. No “like” from me.
Bushfan, you forgot Darwin.
I wonder what it was they were using that they stole. It’s obviously not an ice chest.
Just when they were turning their lives around!
Old Town in the news again. Hope the city council doesn’t event think of raising the property taxes for that sorry excuse of a town. Good luck to anyone trying to sell their home, who would want to buy a house in a town that is constantly in the news for negative reasons?
Aren’t they special! I’m sure they are just misunderstood. ( insert sarcasm anywhere you want. )
…must be Bush’s fault.
lapage’s cuts have nothing to do with these men not getting the help they need. they need to find a job and earn their own stuff not steal from others! give me a break! and don’t try to say there are no jobs. my sister worked 4 jobs to get back on her feet and she isnt 20 yrs old and single either. these lazy “men” and i use that word loosely need to start helping themselves by looking for a job or two.
I used to live up in that area and didn’t like how sketchy some people were. A lot of the students living in that area seem to be snorting stuff to stay up 24/7 to study and party.
It’s the University’s fault.
I had a bunch of friends from Old Town, and I didn’t find them as “sketchy” as the people shopping at Mardens or eating at Nicky’s Crusin Diner.
(Oh BTW) I’m joshing… I shop at Mardens… and eat at Nicky’s … occasionally.)
Old Town is where I am from originally. It smells like mill all the time. The people have gotten trashier every second. It was not until I moved away , that I stopped getting in trouble and using drugs. Thank god for the seniors. They are holding on to the towns remaining integrity. I will say I have lived all over Penobscot County. Old Town Police Department is one of the last fully honest departments in the area. They go above and beyond to keep the town safe. When I was younger we didn’t always see eye to eye, but someone had to put me in my place. Glad they did now at 30 years old.
“the people have gotten trashier every second” then you moved away and did the rest of us a favor. how come the grass is always greener else where, if you people spent some time watering your lawn things wouldn’t be so bad
Just based on the photos I say guilty!
For some reason when I look at there photos I see the guys from Of Mice and Men haha the skinny one obviously being of lesser intelligence.
This is so sad… I went to elementary school with Anthony… he and I were good friends and used to play tag all the time… it’s weird to think that I used to play around on the playground with a guy who’s now going to jail…
