Nate Deyesso of Creative Fabrication of Scarborough installs metal flowers he made for an entryway display at the Portland Flower Show on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. The display is a collaborative effort with Landmarcs Creative Landscapes of Gorham. The Portland Flower Show is in its 13th year at Portland Yacht Services on Fore Street in a brick complex the Portland Company occupied in the 19th century making trains, elevators and boilers. Joanna Sprague, the show’s vendor coordinator, said the annual event would draw upwards of 100 home and garden vendors and exhibitors, and anywhere from 12-16,000 visitors in its five day run, March 7-11. More information and tickets are available online at www.portlandcompany.com.

Great article, especially enjoyed seeing one of my favorite creatives, Nate Deyesso, at work on his installation of flowers! Articles like this make me home sick for Castine, as a recent emigre to California, it is great to hear some of the economic bulbs planted are beginning to spring back to life.
