WASHBURN – Hubert E. Graham, 81, passed away March 5, 2012, at a Presque Isle rehabilitation facility. He was born May 13, 1930, in Houlton, son of Howard and Lillian (Watson) Graham.

He served as a sergeant in the Armored Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Hubert enjoyed playing drums in the area Pentecostal churches he attended throughout the years. Recently, he was attending Dunntown Advent Christian Church. Hubert

worked all of his life in the construction business, building bridges and sidewalks, on streets and roads across the state of Maine. He loved carpentry and enjoyed remodeling old homes for resale, and giving away the bounty from his wonderful vegetable gardens. He was a past member of Hayward-Frazier Post No. 2599 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Presque Isle.

He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Audrey (Condon) McPherson Graham of Washburn; three stepdaughters, Kathleen (McPherson) Bishop and her partner, Doug Heroux, of Enfield, Conn., Elaine (McPherson) Shapleigh of Brentwood, Calif., and Linna (McPherson) Howard of Irvine, Calif.; grandchildren, Bradley, Bethany, Kelley, Tracey, Heidi, Brett and Wade; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leland Graham and his wife, Joyce, of the Carolinas; sister, Pauline Moran of Presque Isle; sister-in-law, Florence Josie Graham of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. Hubert was predeceased by grandson, John; and four brothers, Olin, Bernard, Allison and Phillip Graham.

Relatives and friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Dunntown Advent Christian Church with the Rev. George McLaughlin officiating. Military honors will be after the service. A spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
