BANGOR, Maine — The East and West split a pair of Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Games at Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University on Saturday afternoon.

Josh Britten of Class B state champion Yarmouth High School scored a game-high 22 points as the West Classes A-B stars outscored the East 113-103, while Lee Academy’s D.J. Johnson’s 20 points led the East C-D starst to a 74-71 victory over the West.

Britten made four 3-pointers while leading the West A-B stars to victory, while Trinity College-bound teammate Liam Langaas of York added 16 points.

Bangor High School standout Patrick Stewart, headed for Colby College in the fall, paced the East with 17 points, while Adam Carlsen of Camden Hills of Rockport added 16 points.

In the C-D game, Chase Vicaire of Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln — who earlier in the day won the boys’ state free-throw shooting championship by making a perfect 50 of 50 attempts — complemented Johnson’s efforts with 18 points

High scorers for the West were Tom Applegate and Joe Bryant, both of Saint Dominic of Auburn, with 15 points each. Cody St. Germain of Class C state champion Dirigo of Dixfield added 12 points while Dirigo teammate Ben Holmes added 10.
