BANGOR — Nick Brown picked up eight points, scoring four goals and assisting on four more, to lead Husson University by Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 14-5 in a men’s lacrosse game Sunday .
Ben Landry registered five goals for the 3-2 Eagles. Nolan Brown netted three goals while Ben Potter recorded two goals and an assist. John Hooper III notched his second win in goal, making 10 saves.
Will Doucette led the Buccaneers (1-1) with three goals. Paul Painten blocked 14 of 28 shots.


Bates sweeps Worcester
At Darien, Conn. on Saturday, Nate Pajka hit two home runs, including a grand slam, as Bates College cruised past Worcester State 15-4 in the first game of a doubleheader.
The Bobcats (7-2) completed the sweep with a 3-0 victory in the second game.
In the first game, Pajka hit a grand slam in the second inning and added a two-run home run in the sixth for Bates.
Mekae Hyde also posted a two-run home run in the sixth while Rockwell Jackson and Mike Ciummei each had an RBI double.
In the second game, Mike Antonellis pitched a three-hit, seven-inning shutout to lead the Bobcats to the win.
Bates notched all three of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mike Ciummei hit an RBI single while Kevin McGregor and Jeffrey Gunn each knocked in a run.

USM 8, Farmingdale 4
At Farmingdale, N.Y. on Saturday, David Ricker collected a triple, a double, two singles and three RBIs to propel the University of Southern Maine by Farmingdale State College.
The Huskies (2-1) overcame a 3-1 deficit with five runs in the top of the seventh inning. Forrest Chadwick and Ricker each hit two-out, two-run singles in the seventh. Anthony Pisani and John Carey drove in one run apiece.
David Zilnicki led Farmingdale State (5-5) with a triple, two singles and two RBIs.


Maine drops two
At Northridge, Calif., the University of Maine finished the Northridge Classic with a 1-0 win over Cal State Northridge after suffering a 3-2 loss to Harvard earlier in the day and a 12-3 defeat to California State University at Bakersfield on Saturday.
Beth Spoehr tossed a complete game two-hitter in the Bears’ Sunday victory as she gave up only one walk. Maine is now 5-16.
EmJ Fogel drove in Maine’s run in the fifth when she blasted a triple to left, scoring Kristen Koslosky, who had reached on a dropped third strike.
In Sunday’s first game, Adrienne Hume drove in what proved to be the winning run on a double in the sixth inning as Harvard (7-3) held off Maine.
Jessica Burk led the Black Bears with two singles. Hilary Kane and Dagmar Ralphs each knocked in a run.
In Saturday’s game, Emily Bliss hit two home runs and a single with five RBIs to power the Roadrunners (6-12) to the win in five innings.
Fogel singled twice for Maine. Hilary Kane posted a two-run single while Jennifer Eberhardt added an RBI single.
