PORTLAND, Maine — Maine U.S. Senate candidate and former governor Angus King is finding that political campaigns these days are a lot different from the last time he ran for office in 1998 thanks to social media.
Someone has already set up a fake Twitter account using the handle King Angus.
The anonymous holder of the account — @king_angus –mocks King as self-absorbed, self-important and sometimes out of touch.
King, running as an independent, calls the tweeter “a bozo” but says he can’t be bothered by it.
His campaign communications director told The Portland Press Herald that King will focus on the issues important to Maine and the fake Twitter account is just a part of today’s negative political tone.
King’s official website, Facebook page and Twitter account are scheduled to be up soon.

So Angus, you are already at the name calling stage of your campaign,,, It is not fun being called a bozo.
even when it’s the truth?
If the shoe fits……….
Ten bucks says it’s a tea party goon. Unless Scarcelli is back at it again…
Face it…Angus has it…with or without my vote.
So basially, we’ll learn more about Angus from ‘King Angus’ than the man himself?
‘King Angus.’ Good one. I hope you don’t mind if I use that one myself.
The “G” in Angus is silent.
That sounds about right to me.
Wonder if Rosa Scarcelli has been on Twitter lately…
King really is self-absorbed, self-important and out of touch, just as the article states.
It’s pretty easy to resolve this, Twitter does not allow impersonation, report it to Twitter and the bogus account is banned. Non news, next topic….
Dennis Bailey again, no doubt.
Speaking of bozos, has Dynamite Dennis Bailey been seen lately? It’s about time for him to surface for another 15 minutes of fame, isn’t it?
Just remove the “G”
