COVENTRY, Conn. – Bonnie Marie (Gove) Ohlund, 61, loving wife, and nurturing mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend to so many, lost her battle with cancer March 5, 2012. She was born Sept. 16, 1950, in Bangor, daughter of Julia MacLeod Gove and the late Raymond E. Gove of Bangor.
Bonnie graduated from RHAM High School, Hebron Conn., in 1968, and from Windham Technical School’s licensed practical nursing program, working at Willimantic Community Hospital, Willimantic, Conn., for 30 years, where she was primarily in emergency services.
Bonnie leaves her devoted husband of 40 years, Eric J. Ohlund; son, Kyle G. Ohlund and wife and two daughters of Coventry, Conn.; sister, Judith B. Gove of Rockland; and niece and goddaughter, Annathea D. Smith and husband and two daughters of Timonium, Md.
She also leaves behind devastated nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and countless friends, all honored to have loved her. She has many family ties and connections in Old Town, Bangor, Camden, Rockland, Burlington, and Nicatous Lake. True to her Native heritage, she is with the Great Spirit now, and she would expect us to continue living well and respecting the Earth and all that dwells upon it.
