BANGOR, Maine — A convicted sex offender from Hampden has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of possessing child pornography.
Walter Mosher, 64, pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday in U.S. District Court in Bangor. A detention hearing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
According to court documents, Mosher’s computer contained images of child pornography, specifically digital images and videos that were produced using minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Mosher is listed on the Maine Sex Offender Registry for a 1986 case that resulted in convictions in Aroostook County Superior Court in Houlton on charges of gross sexual misconduct, unlawful sexual contact and sexual exploitation of a minor under the age of 14.
Because of his convictions, Mosher faces up to 20 years in prison, to be followed by at least five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted.

You’re exactly right in the sense that each and every town has its share of dirtbags, but only now more and more are getting caught (and more importantly being caught publicly). Am interested in knowing if any town or territory in the entire state is free of registered sex offenders.

Find the guys/gals who are posting this stuff, then you find the people harming children. Since these folks are usually outside the jurisdiction of the US law enforcement authorities, that is just too much work I guess.
ALSO since current law includes (as child porn) cartoons of this junk, perhaps no real children were harmed.
They should put all these perverts on a desert island somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Make sure there is no shipping lane around and circle it with sharks. Maybe then they’d get the idea that messing with kids wasn’t a good thing to do.

The problem I have with this is the fact this guy is a CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER already. If you molest a child in any way you shoudl get LIFE or death. These folks shoudl NEVER be allowed to re enter society again.
