BANGOR, Maine — An Orrington man who had been ordered to stay away from Hollywood Casino for year was arrested on St. Patrick’s Day after returning to the gaming facility.

Though Daniel Adams Fox, 25, was cooperative and left the premises without incident, what happened when city police caught up with him across the street resulted in some confusion, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said, citing a police report.

Fox initially claimed to be his twin brother, according to police. However, upon further questioning at a convenience store across the street, Fox reportedly admitted that he actually wasn’t his brother and provided his real name. Police charged him with criminal trespass.

During a search of Fox, officers found a knife hidden under his shirt, which led to a concealed weapon charge, Edwards said.

Fox racked up another charge — trafficking in dangerous knives — because the knife was a “spring-assisted” model, which is illegal in Maine.

According to the Bangor Daily News archives, Fox was fined $500 last November for a concealed weapon violation. In May of last year, Fox was pulled over by a Maine State Police trooper who clocked him going 101 mph on Interstate 95 in Bangor.

  1. Geez, if they could only move faster on concealed weapons paperwork, this guy might have gone free…

    1. Um… ’cause he was in traffic when it happened? :) This offense seems a little minor for all the charges. I think what has happened here is bad karma. This guy has been a stone in law enforcement shoes for awhile. And probably not mentioned here, the guy was being a total (censored). So he probably just continued to rack up charges that probably wouldn’t have been thrown at any other person who was told to leave and did.
