ELLSWORTH, Maine — A Lamoine man is facing drunken driving charges after driving his car off the end of a road and into a ditch in Ellsworth on Saturday night.
Nathan Dandurand reportedly told Ellsworth police that he thought he was driving on Water Street in Ellsworth after 9 p.m. Saturday when in actuality he was driving on a parallel, dead-end street, according to a police report.
Dandurand drove his vehicle off the end of Hancock Street and into a ditch. He subsequently was arrested and charged with operating under the influence after reportedly registering a blood alcohol content of 0.14, well above the legal limit of 0.08.

recalculating.
When possible, make a legal u-turn………
I heard this on the scanner that night. A woman saw him drive by and was concern because he was not slowing down…hench what happened in the story. However, when the police arrived the truck was DOA and the guy was GONE…
What is it with Lamoine??
Lamoine? Really. SO when the BDN reports news real time the way the media has shifted all these alleged”thinkers” come out and say “what is with Lamoine” What is with Bangor” What is it with Dexter. What is it with…! My quesiton is what is it with a person that has such simplicity that they really think it is about geography. If it is then how about “what is with Iraq” what is it with Iran”what is it with China. I mean Lamoine. An OUI is what is with Lamoine? A guy got an OUI and the media likes to see LAmoine in the headline because people are more likely to click on the story today given the fact a once in a decade shooting took place there last week.
C’mon!
Of course I don’t think it has a thing to do with geography. It was simply a comment…I live in a small town similar to Lamoine. My thoughts are that we never hear of anything in this little town and then, all of a sudden, there seems to be a few weeks where all of the headlines are in our home town too. No, I don’t think it has a thing to do with geography.
Karma?
He must have made it across Deanne Street and into the small extension of Hancock Street.
He’ll take the city to court for building the street too short.
He ran off the road when he ran out of road. Give this guy credit for staying on the road as long as he did, considering he was nearly twice as drunk as it takes for an OUI.
And if he would have gotten onto the boat landing road instead,
we wouldnt have this situation.
Put some reflectors there.
i agree, the drunks driving around should have more warning, maybe some flashing lights could help prevent such horrors from happening in the future
Heat is off Bangor and Old Town… now on Lamoine…
LOL. Don’t forget Belfast. What is going on in Belfast lately, My goodness. Oh geez, what is happening! Where are my birkenstocks, I am going for a walk so I can clear my head. Now if I could just find my pepper spray so I know I can be safe from those evil 1% ers.
