AUGUSTA, Maine — French music will be playing and French food will be on the menu as Maine’s Franco-American community is recognized during the state’s 11th annual Franco-American Day.

Festivities at the state capitol Wednesday include French music being performed in the halls of the State House, a Franco-American breakfast menu in the cafeteria and historical and cultural displays from Franco-American organizations.

Presentations are scheduled by Franco-American veterans from Lewiston and dignitaries from France and Canada. There will also be a press conference to announce this year’s inductees into the Maine Franco-American Hall of Fame.

The festivities are scheduled during International Francophone Week, which is being celebrated worldwide this week.

        1.  Quite often, you DO have to rip something apart in order to get at the rot.

           MSHA for example.

  1. Franco American breakfast

    UMMMMMMMMMMM!!! UMMMMMMMMM!!!
My Mother-in-law cooked as if she was feeding an army. Well she did for a small one. Total of 22 kids and her husband over time.

Then there was the wood camp with the French Canadian cooks.  If you were hungary after breakfast, lunch  or dinner it wasn’t their fault.

Sidney Bob, the article is about Franco American nationality which you obviously aren’t a part of. Nor is it about you. And it’s not about the Governor. It’s about his heritage. Let’s put yours up and see how well you measure up to it.

  2. I like Canada and Canadians.. let’s celebrate!!!!! St. George de”buce was alot of fun back in the day.
