BANGOR – Clifford J. Miller, 75, died March 15, 2012, at a Bangor nursing facility after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Milford, son of Clifford and Elizabeth Miller.

Clifford was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served four years. He worked at the University of Maine, Orono, for 41 years and was employed as a foreman supervisor of the grounds department. Clifford enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and loved to go camping with his children, grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his three children, Julie Miller of Bangor, Beth Gardner and Clifford J. Miller III, both of Auburn; four sisters, Louise Ness of Minnesota, Anita Frazier of Millinocket, Doris Thibodeau of Veazie and Linda Miller of Old Town; three grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Brandon; several adopted grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special companion, Patty Stewart and her three children; and four special friends, Christin Stewart, Alice Thibodeau, Alson Bouchard and Dodie Bezio; many more family and friends that loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose B. (Henderson) Miller; and granddaughter, Niki. A special thanks goes out to Randy Drake and the staff at Westgate Manor.

A small service for family and friends will be held 1-4 p.m. April 1 at the Bangor room in the Memorial Union building at the University of Maine, Orono. Clifford will be buried at a later date at Miller Family Cemetery, Eddington.
