MILLINOCKET and KENDUSKEAG – George Bryant, 91, passed away March 21, 2012, while at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, after a brief illness. George was born in Holden, son of Gertrude and Frederick P. Bryant.

He was a member of the Masons, National Rifle Association and the 152nd Field Artillery during World War II in the South Pacific. George was known as “The Monarch” and “Pamp.” The only Democrat he ever voted for was Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to talk about politics and hunting.

George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet Russell Bryant; daughter-in-law, Deborah Conroy Bryant; sisters, Mary, Freda and Charlotte, and brothers, Lloyd and Robert. He is survived by his children, Fred Jr., Steve, Mac and Sheila MacDonald, Sue and Paul Pray, and Kathy and Ron Kenneson; sisters, Loretta and Paul Richter, and Nina and Bernie Cleland; brothers, Walter, and John and Tammy Bryant; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Ray “Pike” Bryant. A special thank you to Kendra Lebreton, PA; Dr. John Patten; Dr. Castrucci; and their staff for caring and going the extra mile.

At George’s request there will be no services. Family and friends are invited to gather 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the home of Kathy and Ron Kenneson, 832 Stetson Road, Kenduskeag.
