AUGUSTA, Maine — The bad news is that gas prices in Maine are on the rise again, but the good news is that they are not rising as fast as they are nationally.
Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports Monday that the average retail price of gasoline Maine jumped nearly three cents to $3.86 per gallon.
That compares with a 4.5 cents per gallon increase nationally to an average of $3.86.
Maine prices are now nearly 27 cents higher than on the same day a year ago and nine cents higher than a month ago.

Does not matter how they go up, there is no good news in raising gas prices PERIOD.
Let’s see…Bush Sr., Clinton, Bush Jr., Obama, Congress, SUV Owners, our own driving habits, Greedy Speculators, Greedy Oil Companies, tensions in the Middle East, Canada…have I missed anyone we can blame?
Carter and Reagan.
Oh ya, the stupid voters that keep electing these idiots year after year.
I do suppose Al Gore would have made sure we had cheap gas.
It’s all dispicable…it’s a rip-off at half the price.
it’s not obama’s fault, just ask him
Ya, you missed China. The news reports have said that increasing demand in China is helping to drive worldwide prices up.
Election year. They are just building it up so they can drop it again in October.
Why is it we do not know the reason(s) for this?
When in doubt, blame Obama. I’ll show my support for him in November when I vote for ANYBODY but the current presidential DUD.
