BELFAST – Richard Moran Sproch Jr., 60, left us Friday morning, March 23, 2012, as a result of cardiac arrest.

He was the most exceptional husband, father, brother, uncle, son and friend. His desire to help others resulted in two careers, first as a special education teacher and later as a respiratory therapist. Most recently, he returned to his original career in special education and worked with children at Trenton Elementary School. He had an intense love for nature and was lucky enough to spend much of his time in the great outdoors. He was cherished by his wife of 34 years, Lynnette. He lived for his family, both his wife and his daughters, Emily and Laura, and all who knew him remember the love and pride he displayed when he talked about his “girls.” He grew up in Haddonfield, N.J.

He is survived by his loving father, Richard Sr.; his four wonderful siblings, Mike, Sue, Pam and Amy; and his stepmother and friend, Toby. He leaves his girls in the good hands of his son-in-law, Nick and his son-in-law at heart, Will. His mom, Pat, died nearly 20 years ago, and we take solace in the fact that he is resting peacefully with her.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A celebration of life will be after at the Boat House at Belfast harbor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children International, care of Emily Sproch, 95 Wyckoff St., 3A, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Online condolences may be offered to the family at
