BANGOR, Maine — Five young adults have been charged in connection with three convenience store burglaries that occurred earlier this year in Carmel, Glenburn and Newburgh, Troy Morton, deputy chief of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, announced Thursday.
“During these burglaries, suspects entered convenience stores (Ye Ole General Store in Carmel, Village Variety in Glenburn, and Dysart’s Travel Stop in Newburgh) during the overnight hours while they were closed and took undisclosed amounts of cash, cigarettes, and alcohol,” he said in a press release.
Detectives arrested three suspects for felony burglary and charged two others — one for felony burglary and one for receiving stolen property — over the last couple of weeks in connection with the break-ins, which occurred between Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, Morton said.
Ryan Robichaud, 20, of Bangor was arrested and charged with two counts of felony burglary; Fred W. McPhee, 18, also of Bangor, was arrested and charged with three counts of felony burglary; and Christian Nicholson, 23, of Brewer was arrested and charged with one count of felony burglary.
Cody Brown, 20, of Eddington was charged with two counts of felony burglary but was not arrested.
Lindsey Ames, 21, of Dedham was charged with receiving stolen property for her alleged involvement in the case.
Maine State Police worked with county detectives on the lengthy investigation, Morton said.
“As a result of this investigation other individuals may be charged,” the deputy chief said.
Each felony count carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

From what I heard there have been people up on Ohio St. robbing a market up there. I think it used to be called “Cameron’s Market” not sure what they call it now. I don’t shop at stores like that. Guess there is a lot of that going on these days. Heck a few years back I had just got off a payphone outside of the Mt. Hope Variety store and walked home. My cell phone had broke so I needed to use the payphone. Anyway, within 10 minutes of my leaving a man robbed the store with a hammer. It made the papers back then.
I bet every single one of these “young adults” grew up with Xbox, Cell Phones and the Wii and has never had to do chores before in their life……

Sad. Sad. Sad. These are not rich people that own these little Mom and Pop stores. They never get back the entire ammount of what was taken. I know a couple of the kids arrested and at least one of the kids who faces arrest and i pray that the court hands down the maximum sentence on all counts, though i fear that Almy’s office will only be concerned with the fines and let them off light when they shouldnt be.
