BANGOR – John “Jack” Carleton House Jr., 83, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born March 6, 1929, in Covington, Va., son of John C. House Sr. and Elizabeth Brown House.

Jack attended Tabor Academy, Marion, Mass., and the University of Richmond in Virginia. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member and deacon of First Congregational Church, Ellsworth, and volunteered at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital emergency room for many years.

Jack is survived by his son, John C. House III and wife, Cynthia; daughter, Barbara Tyrrell and husband, Pat; sister, Ginger Snead and husband, Lin; grandson, John S. House and wife, Eva; granddaughter, Anne-Elizabethe Raustol and husband, Ole; grandson, Seth Turnbow; grandson, Michael O’Bryant and wife, Harmony; and his partner, Elizabeth Van Dyk. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan.
