PORTER, Maine — Authorities say a New Hampshire teenager was killed and his two passengers were injured in a car crash in western Maine.
Steve McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department says the one-car crash occurred Sunday afternoon on Route 25 in Porter.
He says 18-year-old Darren Duncanson of New Durham, N.H., lost control of the car while making a series of turns. The car rolled over and slammed into several trees. McCausland says Duncanson, who wasn’t wearing his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passengers, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy, were taken to a Portland hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.
State police are investigating the crash.

Friday morning in SE Ma. The morning of the Junior Prom. A girl on a provisional license broke the law by having 3 other Juniors in the car with her, was talking on the phone (also illegal), on a two lane road when she crossed the line and hit an empty school bus squarely head on. Two are in intensive care. She was the only one wearing a seatbelt and got minor injuries. The only thing she did right saved her life. The illegal things she did resulted in what?
It was a solemn Prom.
Kids will never learn, that in fact, they are not invincible and will continue to leave the ones left behind with all the real pain…
I mean no disrespect for the deceased or the ones left behind. I lost my sister for the same reasons he’s gone and I just get so angry at the waste.

At what point do you stop referring to young men as “boys?” At 18, this citizen is old enough to vote, hold a dangerous job, or fight for the rest of us in Afghanistan.
Usually when a mis-categorization occurs it is due to some hidden agenda. In the old South dark-skinned people were not considered fully human.
I guess that the American teenager is the last group against whom you may discriminate without getting the P.C. police all in a tither.
