CORINTH and BANGOR – Isabelle L. Greatorex, 90, wife of the late Thomas Greatorex, died March 31, 2012, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Corinth, the daughter of Irving and Addie (Guptill) Speed.

She served the Corinth area as a registered nurse for many years. She was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Mission Circle and Pioneer Girls. Isabelle enjoyed family get-togethers, gardening and reading.

She is survived by a son, Jim Greatorex and his wife, Beth, of Gorham; two daughters, Norma Bean and her husband, Philip, of Owls Head and Joyce Turner and her husband, Elwin, of Vassalboro; a sister, Lorna Speed of Corinth and Bangor; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Corinth Baptist Church with Pastor Kirk Mellen officiating.
