GREENVILLE JUNCTION – Howard Malcolm Stanhope Jr., 47, died March 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born Sept. 20, 1964, in Greenville, a son of Howard and Janet (Ward) Stanhope Sr.

Howie graduated from Greenville High School, class of 1984. He was an avid skier, and enjoyed living in Vermont and Colorado working at various ski resorts. He was currently employed by the Charles A. Dean Hospital maintenance department in Greenville. He also enjoyed water skiing, hiking and riding his motorcycle with his beloved son, Howard. He was a devoted father and his son meant the world to him. Howie also loved spending time with his family, friends and his loyal dog, Miller.

In addition to his parents of Greenville, he is survived by his 9-year-old son, Howard III of Island Falls; two sisters, Karen and husband, Allan Ryder, of Lancaster, N.H., and Jana Stanhope of Jacksonville, Fla.; niece, Katelyn; nephew, Nicholas Ryder, both of Lancaster, N.H.; Uncle Bill and Aunt Joyce Owens; Uncle Dale and Aunt Brenda Ward, all of Greenville; and numerous cousins.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Crosby & Neal Chapel, located at the Masonic Hall, 281 Pritham Ave., Greenville, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Veon officiating. A spring graveside committal service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, in the family lot at Greenville Cemetery.
