EASTPORT, Maine — A Washington County man was arrested over the weekend after child pornography was found on his computer, according to police.
Rubin Perry, 25, is facing a charge of possession of sexually explicit material of children under age 12, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday in a news release.
McCausland said members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip that Perry had child porn and went to his apartment Sunday morning.
Perry was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail, where he remained Tuesday, according to a jail official. McCausland said additional charges are likely after Perry’s computer is analyzed.
Eastport police assisted state police in the investigation, according to McCausland.
What the hell is wrong with these people??

Well if what you state is true I hope they consider his past but if he is charged with a federal crime he most likely will receive prison time regardless if he was sexualy abused as a child.
I wonder why all of my posts got deleted? I agree with the federal prison time. I think that happens if any have been obtained or sent across state lines.

Well you must know him, or you wouldn’t be so defensive. First off, it was his personal computer in his house so that pretty much makes him guilty. If he’s allowing others to use his computer, and these people are obtaining this disgusting material then he needs new aquantances. I can’t imagine having that type of repulsiveness unknowingly on my computer. Either way, being the perpetrator or hanging with those who are is just as guilty.
Actually, I’m sure given about 5 mins I could find all sorts of things on your computer that you don’t know about, maybe even some material that could be classified as “child porn”. Your assumption that nobody’s ever “used” your computer is totally laughable, computers get hacked into by the hundreds of thousands every single day.
And Amanda is probably just reacting the way most reasonable people do, when they see people equating an arrest “based on a tip” with a foregone conclusion of guilt.

Hes 25 what does his family got to do with it. He has child porn on his computer, most normal people just dont have that kind of stuff on their computers.

We are often hearing of men getting caught with child pornography on their computers. Where do the “tips” come from? Are people born with these behaviors or are they choices?
Un-natural behaviors don’t just come from nowhere. There’s “cause and effect” in all human affairs (just like the REST of the universe). Unresolved trauma is most a most typical contributor.

Your past has everything to do with who you become. The early years of developement form your knowledge of right from wrong. If you were violated as a child you tend to think it is ok to continue to violate otherw when you grow up. While I have no idea whether this man is guilty or not, he or anyone else in similar circumstances needs to get professional help. Sorry if you feel differently.

This disorder has has generational component ; both as perpertrator and victim.
Not all children that are sexually abused will become perpertrators as adults, but many do.
They seek out victims with their own pathology that allows them to become easy prey.
Perpertrators also seek out intimate partners with children they can assault, with the partner having come from a long line of family intergenerational sexual abuse themselves; both as victims and perpertrators.
Seldom is this behavior learned in a vacuum.
The police should be out trapping real pedophiles, not the virtual kind. Child pornography can consist of cartoons, simulcasts, and old pictures from the National Geographic posted out of context.
Although I am a strong supporter of lifetime jail sentences for people who sexually abuse children, I am not a supporter of police browsing through ISP client’s viewing history. Isn’t anyone else concerned that big brother is watching all of us some of the time?
