HOULTON – Doris Fern Bishop, 80, died April 3, 2012, at a local health care facility. She was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Monticello, daughter of Frank and Mildred (Kneeland) Prosser.
Doris enjoyed crocheting and knitting for her family and friends. She was well known for her green thumb growing beautiful houseplants.
Doris is survived by one son, Steven Bishop of New York; two daughters, Diane Phillips and Pauline Swimm, both of Houlton; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Prosser of Florida, Wendall Prosser of Pittsfield and Basil Prosser of Arizona; two sisters, Alice Miller of Mars Hill and Carolyn Graham of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Antoine Bishop; her son, Joseph Bishop; two daughters, Margaret Brooker and Catherine Wright; two brothers, Earl Prosser and Murray Prosser; and her sister, Patricia Saddler.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Spring interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery.
