HOLDEN and HOWLAND – Jennie M. Bemis, 83, wife of the late Derwood C. Bemis, died April 3, 2012, in Brewer. She was born in Howland, daughter of Raymond H. Sr. and Donna B. (Spinney) Knowlton.
Surviving are two stepsons, Gregory Bemis, and Jeffrey Bemis and his wife, Susan; grandson, Dylan V. Bemis; niece, Janice Rae Knowlton; nephews, Alan Knowlton and his wife, Rosalie, Jeffrey Knowlton and his wife, Beth, Stuart Knowlton and his wife, Marian, Byron A. Knowlton II and his wife, Cindy, Patrick Knowlton and his wife, Maria, and Eugene Knowlton and his wife, Linda; a very dear cousin, Ruth Legassey; sisters-in-law, Elaine Cronkhite and Donna Brown; brother-in-law, Kendall Bemis and his wife, Gretchen, and their daughter, Janet, to whom she was known as “Aunt Jennie”; Janet’s husband, Michael and their children, Tucker and Cooper. She was predeceased by her husband; and brothers, Byron A. Knowlton and Raymond H. Knowlton Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved pets: dog, Penny; and cat, Koki.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring Jennie’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7, with Pastor Greg Selmon, presiding.
