BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Thomas Joseph Courtney, 66, died April 1, 2012, at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. He was born March 2, 1946, in Dexter, a son of Thomas G. and Albertina (Goulette) Courtney.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Thomas was an officer in the corporate trust department of Morgan Guarantee Trust, and later head of the corporate trust department of Mizuho Trust & Banking, both of New York City. He was a Catholic communicant and attended St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Manhattan, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his mother, one of the Dexter Goulettes, Albertina, in 1998; father, Tom, in 1981; and sister, Jean Theresa, in 1949. He is survived by a sister, Kathleen Spreen; brothers, Gerard and Dean; and nieces, Deborah, Christine, Deana, Lisamarie, Breanna, Annamaria and Courtney.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 64 Free St., Dexter.
