ELLSWORTH, Maine — A local man accused of selling drugs at the high school was among 17 people who have been indicted by a Hancock County grand jury.

Also indicted on April 5 was an Orrington man accused of setting fire to a camper in Bucksport in February.

Travis W. Davis, 18, of Ellsworth, is facing one count of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs in connection with alleged drug transactions that took place at Ellsworth High School last October. Frank Trundy, 53, of Ellsworth, who last fall was working as a custodian at the school, was sentenced in February to serve three years in prison for his role in the same alleged drug deals.

According to police, Davis is accused of selling eight prescription painkiller pills to Trundy at the school. Davis was a student at Ellsworth High School at the time.

The incident in Bucksport in which an Orrington man is alleged to have set fire to another man’s camper occurred Feb. 5 on Millvale Road.

Andrew DiCesare, 24, was indicted on two counts of arson. He was arrested Feb. 15 by Bucksport police Officer Daniel Harlan following a joint investigation by the state fire marshal’s office and Bucksport police. The camper, which had been converted into a permanent residence, was declared a total loss. The owner was not home at the time and there were no injuries.

Bucksport police have said DiCesare apparently knew the victim.

  1. Isnt it interestng who was not indicted? People calling for the hanging of a certain Lamoine resident should come to grips with the fact that what he did was justified.

    1. all that they print is one side of the story. i would like them to interview the other and put that in print so we can put that whole story to bed. but until then all we can go on is gossip and hearsay. cant wait for the po po to give up the final report!!!! but you are right, its very interesting that “who”wasnt indicted…

    2. I think you’re reading far too much into a police beat indictment list. The headline crime happened last October, for example.

      1. Yes it happened in October and then they indicted the janitor who pleaded guilty who then in turn agreed to testify that this kid sold him the drugs.

    3.  maybe I’m wrong and if I am I’m sorry….but these people that were indicted had been arrested already… months ago…. the “certain” Lamoine resident hasn’t been arrested yet….. but I have no doubt that it’s coming…..  the Lamoine incident is a lot more recent than these crimes that these people were indicted for….

      1. People can be arrested and then prosecuted in district court or their case can be held open and presented to the grand jury for prosecution in Superior Court if the crime is deemed serious enough. Also, a person can be investigated for illegal activity but not be under arrest at any time. Evidence of that illegal behavior can be presented to a grand jury who then can indict which then makes that person subject to arrest.
