BANGOR – Ruth M. Saindon, 87, died April 13, 2012, at an Orono nursing home. She was born June 20, 1924, in Bangor, the daughter of Napoleon J. and Madelyn (Myrick) Saindon.

Ruth was a day care provider for more than 40 years. The best times of her life were with her family at Matagamon Lake, and her granddaughters and great-granddaughters were the joy of her life.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Noreen Peters and her husband, Martin, of Glenburn; granddaughters, Monique Kelley Mair of Germany and Courtnee Peters of Bangor; great-grandchildren, Phoebe Kelley of Glenburn and Hannah Mair of Germany; sister, Frances Herbert of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Horace I. Saindon; and a very dear friend, Norma Blanchard. The family thanks the Orono Commons staff for the wonderful compassion and care to Ruth.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, with the Rev. Fred Dickinson officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshment at their home, 753 Hudson Road, Glenburn.
