FLETCHERS LANDING – After a valiant battle with lung cancer Linwood W. “Smokey” Stover, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior April 20, 2012.
He was a gifted musician, an extraordinary gentleman and an inspirational figure to many family and friends.
Linwood was predeceased by his parents, Winfred and Zelda Stover; and brothers, Lawrence and Frederick Stover. He is survived by his loving partner, Charlene Grindle; sons, Keith L. Stover and Jo Ann Orlando, Linwood Hazen Stover and Cindy Freeman, Roderick Stover, Gardiner Scott Stover, and Bradley Stover and Marilyn Poulin; stepchildren, Carol Pearson and Al Winchester; brothers, Luther and wife, Caroline, Loramer and wife, Bessie, Leslie and wife, Gwen, and Lloyd and wife, Sharon; sisters, Lillian Curtis and partner, Linwood Scripture, Lucille Dyer and partner, Charles Williams, Lovena Morse and partner, Douglas Bennett, and Letena “Tina” Curley and husband, Larry Creve; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held noon April 29 at First Baptist Church, High Street, Belfast. A celebration of life will be held at American Legion Post No. 43, 143 Church St., Belfast, with a memorial service 3 p.m. for all those who could not attend the noontime service.
