LISBON, Maine — A high school senior has won this year’s Moxie Festival logo design contest for her drawing based on the theme “We’re in Moxieland.”

Lisbon High School student Danielle Malesiewski received a $100 check and a 2012 Moxie Festival T-shirt of her winning entry.

Her logo features a Ferris wheel with Moxie cans in place of the passenger cars and a horse standing in the driver’s seat of an old-fashioned car.

This year’s festival takes place from July 13-15 in Lisbon. The annual event pays homage to the quirky beverage concocted in the 1870s by a Mainer.

Moxie is Maine’s official state soft drink.

  1. Congratulations!  Now if somebody could just design a flavor that would make anybody want to drink this stuff….

  2. Yeuck to the Moxie flavor.  Takes a stout heart for that stuff, but hooray for the winner.  I hope to see the artwork soon.

    1. Considering some of the entries in the past festival Moxie recipe contests, yes it can.  Moxie Whoopie Pies anyone?  How about pulled pork in Moxie BBQ sauce?  Moxie Baked Beans, etc.

    1.  Coke, Pepsi, and just about any other soda would do likewise due to the carbonic acid (aka the carbonation).

      1. Coke with some ice and Lord Calvert or Canadian Mist is also a good lubricant!! Subject: [bdn] Re: Lisbon High School student wins logo design contest for 2012 Moxie Festival

          1. Did you have good luck?
