HERMON, Maine — A Hermon couple in the process of opening a tanning salon had their future business burglarized over the weekend, according to police.

Police have not yet made an arrest in Saturday’s break-in, Deputy Larry Estes of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday afternoon.

Four tanning booths that Darren and Sherry Martin of Hermon had just moved into the Colbrook Road location were damaged, Estes said, and some products, such as lotion and goggles, were stolen.

“They’re really not sure [how extensive] the damage is yet,” Estes said.

“We were able to pan a footprint from the place,” said Estes, who wouldn’t elaborate further on whether police had any suspects.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at 947-4585 and ask for the detective division.
