OGUNQUIT, Maine — Carson Kressley from TV’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and “Dancing With the Stars” is returning to Maine to perform in a twisted version of “Damned Yankees.”

In this version, the story is planted firmly at Boston’s Fenway Park, where the character Joe offers to sell his soul to devilish dealmaker Kressley in return a big hitter. Kressley tells Portland Magazine that his version of the devil will be “sassy and saucy and not necessarily evil.”

Kressley counts himself as a Red Sox fan since he participated in a makeover of several players during his hit TV show, and once threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park.

He was last seen at the Ogunquit Playhouse two years ago as Man in Chair during in “The Drowsy Chaperone.”

    1. Actually, it’s really not. We hear from the wingnuts like Michael Heath but they aren’t the majority by any stretch of the imagination.

Travel to a few other states and you’ll see that Maine really is a live-and-let-live kinda place.

      1. You’re more right than wrong on this; after the November vote let’s hope it’s even more so.

    1. Are you saying that the Ogunquit Playhouse should present a different play, and not another musical comedy?  Is that the cliche?

      1.  Yes, that’s it exactly. I mean Sally Struthers portraying Patsy Cline will be a nice respite, but the rest of the seasons offerings, South Pacific,9 To 5,The Buddy Holly Story? Can we not show the rest of the State, the World, that there is more to this town than sweet voices and smooth dance steps?

  1. first it’s the gays, next thing you know people will marry dogs….

oh wait, that doesn’t make sense to logical folk. hopefully we can end this homophobic zealous tirade this November.

    1. The story is about theatre, and an actor who will play a part in the show, ‘Damned Yankees’.  That’s what this is story is about.  You are completely off-topic.

  2. Topic:  Actor coming to the Ogunquit Playhouse to perform in a satirical version of ‘Damn Yankees’.  He likes Fenway and the Red Sox.  He appeared on a television show.  Actor coming to Ogunquit Playhouse – THAT’s  the topic.
