BANGOR, Maine — A Clifton man who has been in trouble before for operating under the influence was arrested again Wednesday on the same charge, according to police.

Andrew Robinson, 43, who has prior convictions for OUI, was reportedly driving drunk near Carolina Sports and Spirits when police were called, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

Officer Chris Blanchard stopped Robinson’s vehicle on Main Street near Paddy Murphy’s and the suspect nearly backed into Blanchard’s patrol car, Edwards said.

Robinson failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested. He is charged with operating under the influence, a Class C felony due to his prior convictions, and operating after his license had been revoked, a Class D misdemeanor.

He faces up to 10 years in jail on the OUI charge and an additional year on the operating after revocation count. He remained at the jail Thursday morning.

  1. With gas at 4 plus a gallon, find a closer place to get hammered or get a cab.  He could have gotten a room at Hollywood Slots for a few nights in comparison to what this is going to cost him at the end of the day. Can’t change stupid.

  2. This is interesting  a drunk in Bangor make the Bangor Daily but a drunk school teacher in Hancock County does not.
