ELLSWORTH, Maine — State police are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate recent burglaries at two public buildings in the Hancock County town of Surry.

The burglaries at the Surry town office and Surry Elementary School were believed to have happened sometime on Thursday evening. No other information was available Friday afternoon.

Police are asking anyone who observed suspicious vehicles in the area or who may have information on suspects to contact Maine State Police at 866-2121 with attention to Trooper Greg Mitchell. Callers can remain anonymous.

  1. If these towns are not going to install some type of security system-at the very least put up a game camera at night. A decent one retails for about $150.00.
