AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Republican officials say Mitt Romney’s brother, Scott Romney, will be the keynote speaker at the party’s convention this weekend.
Scott Romney, the presumptive presidential nominee’s older brother and an attorney in Michigan, is scheduled to speak after Saturday night’s convention dinner. About 3,000 Republicans have registered for the two-day convention, which begins Saturday morning.
The Republicans will select delegates to represent Maine at the National GOP Convention on August 27-30, in Tampa, Fla. They’ll also hear speeches from Gov. Paul LePage and U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. The six GOP candidates vying for Snowe’s seat will also speak.

… as the convention proceeds to elect a majority of our delegates to the national convention who support Ron Paul.
In many states around the country Romney got the high visibility “popular” vote win, but Ron Paul actually bothered to do the hard work to get state delegates elected and is picking up the win in actual delegates going to the national convention.
Mitt couldn’t be bothered. It’s just about understanding the system and doing the work — but that is still too much to expect of Mitt.
I guess doing a 180 turn and pretending you now believe things you said you did not believe is sapping his energy.

– In Louisiana, Paul delegates dominated the state’s caucuses on Saturday — though Paul took just 6 percent of the primary vote there in March
The Minnesota convention hasn’t been held yet, but local reports indicate that Paul backers are poised to “dominate” there as well.
-In Massachusetts, Paul supporters scored the majority of Romney’s delegates at the state convention this weekend
If Paul can secure a plurality of delegates in just five states, they can try to nominate him from the convention floor in accordance with the convention rules
A March article stated that Ron Paul would be the keynote speaker at ME’s convention, but a recent article states that he will be the featured speaker tomorrow afternoon at the Nevada Republican convention.
Guess the ME Republicans must have just received notice today that Romney’s brother would be speaking, since the convention schedule had “TBD” through last night.
Ron Paul not interested in being part of a clown show? What a surprise!
Charlie Webster has made Paul feel so welcome up till now…no wonder.
I wonder if he’s similarly as robotic and out of touch.
Another, Rich. Spoiled 1 %ER Republican that does not have a clue how the other middle class and poor exist day to day trying to pay bills and feed their kids.
What could he possibly have to say?
Is he supporting Ron Paul like his cousin’s?
