DURHAM, Maine — The Maine State Police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred this week on Old Brunswick Road.

Trooper Jodell Wilkinson said intruders kicked in the side door of an Old Brunswick Road residence sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. The couple who lives at the home were away at the time of the burglary.

A 42-inch LG flat screen television, a 17-inch Gateway laptop, a PlayStation 3 and an entire rack of more than 200 movies were taken. The value of purloined items totals at least $2,000, according to Wilkinson.

When the owner returned home around 4 p.m., he found the home had been forcibly entered and burglarized. He called police.

The family’s dog somehow got loose as a result of the burglary but was found early Thursday morning and is OK.

Wilkinson said she believes more than one suspect is involved. She invites anyone who may have observed anything unusual or suspicious in the area Wednesday, or who has any information related to the burglary, to call the Maine State Police at 657-3030 or 1-800-228-0857 and ask for Trooper Wilkinson.
