BANGOR, Maine — A local transient was arrested on Saturday night after he jumped up and down on his ex-girlfriend’s car and repeatedly smashed his own face into a window, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.

His tirade attracted the attention of people in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on State Street around 7:40 p.m. and a police officer who noticed the crowd.

The officer “saw someone yelling and screaming at a woman in a car” while he was parking his cruiser and also witnessed the man “smashing his face on the driver’s-side window,” Edwards said.

Roderick Eastman, 26, also threatened the 22-year-old woman and jumped on the hood of her car, causing around $500 in damage, according to witnesses.

The woman was not injured, Edwards said.

Eastman was arrested and faces charges of domestic violence criminal mischief, domestic violence criminal threatening and disorderly conduct. Eastman was taken to Penobscot County Jail and remained in jail at noontime Monday, a jail official said.

    1. It is sad when something comes betwen a loving couple-in this case it happened to be a fairly well manufactured automobile window.

    1. It’s somewhat refreshing not to have hard drugs or pot involved….except for a face plant.

      1. Knowing this poor excuse for a human being….. He was either High or Drunk!!!! Rehab didn’t do a thing to help him.

  2. I used to live near that area and the police are always on that end of town, Essex St. and Pine St. area next to Family Dollar. Almost as much as they are over at Ohio St.

  3. This isn’ his first domestic violence charge. Roderick “Ricki” Eastman has had a nasty temper for all his life. Hopefully this time he will get the MAXIMUM sentence allowable by law. There is no excure for domestic abuse!
