BANGOR, Maine — A man was caught on video surveillance cameras taking laptop computers into the bathroom at Best Buy at the Bangor Mall — during two separate visits — and then walking out of the store with the computers hidden in his clothing.
Bangor Police Department released two images taken recently from the electronic store’s surveillance cameras that show the man carrying a boxed laptop and one of the man’s red- or burgundy-color car in the parking lot.
The man has medium-length brown hair and a brown mustache and is pictured wearing a black printed T-shirt and a black jacket with a hood.
The man “apparently took two laptop computers on two different occasions into the men’s room still in the box, and then left the store apparently concealing them inside of his clothing and driving away,” Sgt. Paul Edwards said in a statement.
Store employees called police on Saturday and Officer Dennis Townsend took the complaint.
Anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the man pictured may call Detective Erik Tall at the Bangor Police Department at 947-7382. The department’s anonymous tip line can be reached by pressing extension 6.

For an electronics store you would think they’d get surveillance camera’s with better resolution. Also, after looking at the picture of the Circle K knife wielder, this mans shirt, pants and shoes look like they match. That’s just my speculation of course.
They won’t have any trouble finding this guy with the photo they have. His freinds will rat him out-especially if they have charges pending against themselves. Birds of a feather flock together. He’s toast.
You know you took the words out of my mouth, that shirt is looking like him. But the hair is what is throwing me off. Time for detective work
This guy looks a lot like me . I just went down to the Bangor PD. To tell them I bought one recently. They said I was to tall to be this guy.
What about a “New Years Resolution”-don’t steal and be the star in a movie at the same time.
It is rather disappointing that Best Buy sells better equipment then what they actually use.
Wouldn’t you think he’d set the alarms off at the door? And shouldn’t the laptops at the store be locked in a cage?
Dad????????
Does anybody remember that bog walk break in and the video that caught the teenagers with the wildlife camera? That had 100% better resolution than this
to the police its a dodge neon if that helps, dah
You can not tell from those pictures.
Those pictures are so crappy it could be a S10 king cab or anything else for that matter.
Pretty sad when BEST BUY has surveilance cameras from the 80’s.
Nobody noticed a guy walking into the bathroom with a laptop box????
It used to be that when someone had this sort of appearance and walked into an electronics store, attention would be focused squarely on that person and security personnel would be prepared. Now the problem is that so many people look like him in the Bangor area and at any given time there could be 10 of these guys wandering through Best Buy…
Thanks to jerks like this, most public places won’t let you use a restroom anymore.
If the guy walked right out the door why didn’t they stop him of at least get a plate . Now looking back days latter they think this guy stole one? Hey this guy looks a lot like me. Just saying I bought one .
Do you see the security that place has? They will ask for a receipt from you as soon as you pay at a front register but won’t stop you if you walk out the door with laptops, during this entire time of him doing this with 2 laptops they did not observe someone walking to the bathrooms with merchandise.
I paid for the one I bought . I did not show a receipt at the door. I am not saying the picture is me . I just thing they are grasping at straws . If that was a better picture and is me I would want a formal apology from them. they have no idea what they are doing.

I don’t think I would want them laptops back, I cant imagine what he was googling in the bathroom with them.
