CONCORD, N.H. — Bishop Gene Robinson of New Hampshire, the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop, says he is grateful and proud that Obama is supporting gay marriage.
Robinson said that the president is aligning himself on the right side of history.
The bishop had giving the invocation at an Obama pre-inaugural event.
He said on Thursday that he was thrilled that Obama mentioned children with gay parents who attend school with his daughters and are not treated equally.
Obama revealed his decision on Thursday after a series of events that made clear the political ground was shifting. He once opposed gay marriage but more recently had said his views were “evolving.”
Gay rights groups cheered Obama’s declaration. Republican challenger Mitt Romney has disagreed with it.
So, this bishop in NH is heeding the Word of God? It was politically expedient for Obama to come out in solid favor of homosexual/lesbian marriages because the latter money donors were withholding their money from him; the NC voters were smart and voted for the ban Tuesday; and, he has a $40,000. a plate fundraiser hosted by George Clooney today. And guess what–O raised $1,000,000. in 90 minutes after his planned interview with the Roberts journalist. He has always been pro-homosexual/lesbian marriages, but just waiting for the right time as president to become their hero.
What a shame that he had to bring his daughters into the mix–thought they were off limits!
Obama will use anyone, and I mean anyone, to gain a vote or two. After all, it’s election season, and he’s in his element.
