LIMESTONE, Maine — Israeli Defense Force officials plan to visit a northern Maine plant that refurbishes military vehicles as that country considers purchases.
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, says the Israelis will visit the Maine Military Authority in Limestone on Monday.
The Israelis will meet with Maine Military Authority officials and conduct a site survey as Israel considers the purchase of tactical wheeled vehicles. The outfit has refurbished more than 14,000 Humvees in the past and it is one of several organizations competing for an Israeli Defense Force contract to provide Humvees during the next three years.
Collins extended an invitation to Ambassador Michael Oren, Israel’s envoy to the United States, after she learned that Israel is looking to procure additional Humvees.
Good job Susan! Bring as much stuff our way as possible, we need someone in Washington D.C. looking out for the state of Maine!
One only needs to look at the news to see just what the Israelis are driving right now to see just how badly they need Hummer’s. Most of their Border Patrol is still driving around in old M-151 MUTT’s. And these have been out of US service for year’s ! There are even a few ‘Mech’ infantry unit’s still running around in the old White M-3 Scoutcar’s and M-6 Halftrack’s. No, this visit is huge opportunity for Maine to show just how well we work. That Suzie Collins made it happen is also a good sign for Maine as well. Maine is going to be seen as a ‘pivot’ vote in the upcoming Senate session’s. It’s about time that Maine was taken seriously, instead of being looked at as a bunch of backwoods rednecks and beer guzzling fishermen. Maine, when taken seriously, can do dammed near anything we put our mind’s to when the goal and objective’s are clear and simple. But, and it’s always a HUGE but, when ego’s and personal agenda’s start being used as a motive to get things done, instead of getting the job that was hired or contracted for to get done, Maine comes apart at the seam’s. Suzie has provided a huge opportunity for Mainer’s to show the world just what we can do, and how well we do it. You go Limestone ! And don’t take crap off anyone that says otherwise.

You are exactly right! When Israel “buys” military equipment from the U.S. it is always purchased with the foreign aid we generously give them every year. That or as part of the foreign aid package the U.S. just plain gives the hardware to them. What do we get back from them? Nothing! Zilch! Nada! Not even respect. They spy on us, they use us for national security, they maintain a foreign lobby staffed with U.S. citizens, and they won’t stop building on Palestinian territory never mind make peace. After 60 years of largess it’s time America stopped breast feeding this adult child of the world.
We should get rid of them.

Then, Sir, may I suggest you enlist in the Iranian Army or go find your local al-Queda representative. I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to acommidate you. So will we as we now won’t have to worry about providing you with Constitutional protection’s and other service’s that the Country can now provide to those folk’s who need them.
