ROCKLAND, Maine — A 44-year-old local man was arrested Saturday morning, accused of providing marijuana to his 17-year-old son.

Kenneth MacDonald of North Main Street was arrested on a charge of aggravated furnishing of marijuana. He was taken to the Knox County Jail about 11:30 a.m. and released on bail later that day.

Maine State Police Troopers Evan Teel and Scott Quintero stopped a vehicle driven by MacDonald in Union for reportedly having a loud exhaust. The troopers approached the vehicle smelled marijuana, they reported.

MacDonald admitted that he had marijuana in the vehicle, according to state police. He was interviewed and charged with the drug offense for sharing the pot with his son.

The son was not charged.

    1. Yup, a real cool dad with a nice mug shot for everyone to see. More of us fathers should inspire to one day get arrested so we can achieve the status of coolest dad ever.

  1. Wow thanks for that and taking a “real criminal” off the street. why is this stuff illegal anyway..we need to change these ridiculous laws and get these idiots out. WE have meth problem in Maine and a pill problem but we are focusing our efforts on this…I am sick and tired of it!

    1.  Because he was burning one with a minor the crime is greatly enhanced. I think that helping a kid, whether they are yours or not, to smoke deserves a punishment.

    2. Methadone “patients” take their dose at the clinics then jump in their vehicles and drive away but that’s okay because they are protected by the Patients with Disabilities Act, so why not the same for marijuana patients? Not sure if this father and son are Medical Marijuana patients or not but it is a question I would love answered.

I have heard of numerous incidents of methadone patients driving away from the clinic in Rockland (closed now thank goodness) and nearly causing accidents while high on that crap but nothing is ever done to prevent it.

  2. You Can’t drive around with even a plate lite out if you’re not completely clean. Learned that a century ago.
    Nice parenting, Dad(?).

  3. Dumb kid should have just paid the ticket instead of ratting out his old man and putting him in deep doo doo.  Why wouldn’t anybody want to pay their ticket?  If you get caught breaking the law just take your punishment and don’t try to pass it off on somebody else; sheesh

    1. Can’t believe the little brat rolled over on his dad! No more ganga  for you sonnyboy.

    2. Dumb kid? Ratting out his old man? Do you know more about this than is being reported? Just asking.
