WEST BATH, Maine — The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department charged a Brunswick woman with operating under the influence of drugs after she drove off the road Friday night.
According to Lt. Calvin Temple, Cortney Moulton, 27, of 472 Princes Point Road in Brunswick, was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee on New Meadows Road until the vehicle went off the road and came to a stop.
No one was injured. A passenger was outside the vehicle when the deputy arrived and reported that Moulton wears contacts and can’t see well at night.
The deputy could smell marijuana wafting from the vehicle, Temple said. Moulton said she hadn’t been drinking alcohol. The deputy noticed her eyes were bloodshot and glassy and her speech was slurred.
Temple said Moulton underwent an intoxilizer test at the Bath police station. It showed she had no alcohol in her system, but a drug recognition expert evaluation resulted in Moulton’s arrest on charges of operating under the influence of drugs (marijuana).
Moulton posted bail from the Bath police station.

Driver drove off the road plus was doing 15 mph in a 40 mph zone…
Marijuana does not slur your speech
Rev, but eating a 5 gallon can of chips in 10 minutes might.
Don’t drink and drive, don’t smoke and drive, don’t text and drive, don’t eat and drive, and don’t have sex and drive. The rest of us that have to use the roads too would appreciate your cooperation in these matters.
“a drug recognition expert evaluation resulted in Moulton’s arrest” LMAO
or . . .
It takes one to know one?
Driving is a privilege and we should conform to each and every whim of our Big Brother or lose it. ad nauseum.
she was on something, but I’m willing to bet it was more than Marijuana…. drove 15 in a 40, slurred speech? I grew up in the 70’s and that doesn’t sound like smoking a little to me….
If it was mexican marajuana it could have pesticides on it or any kind of chemicals. American cannabis is usually chemical free. I never heard of cannabis causing slurred speech or driving off the road. She probably got off easier admitting to weed than handing over some pills to the police.
Come on, all you potheads. Aren’t you going to come to her defense and tell us it should be her right to drive this way if she wants too? And aren’t we going to hear how they need to legalize it to eliminate this nuisance iterference into her personal life…………….maaaannnn?
Yes it does need to be legalized, and consumed responsibly, just like alcohol. Whether pot is legal or not has no effect on the fact she was wrong to drive under the influence.
How would you determine “over the limit” for smoking and driving? I’m sure you’ve thought this through.
I think it should be the same as anything else. How erratically are you driving? I think anyone driving erratically should be stopped and evaluated to protect others.
it should be legal because Prohibition DOES NOT WORK with anything, and regulated just like alcohol. You can’t be under the influence of alcohol and drive either. But I don’t believe for one second all she had in her system was Pot….
lighten up go smoke a joint who pee’d in your cheerios?
