ORRINGTON and SURRY – Effie Mae Hincks, 81, died May 14, 2012. She was born March 23, 1931, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Norton) Robinson.
Effie was a dedicated homemaker devoted to her family. She enjoyed many things, most of which were centered around her family including baking, camping, gardening and playing cards.
Effie is survived by eight children, Barbara Lambert, Sherman and his wife, Joanne, Allen and his wife, Cindy, Ruth and her husband, Robert Bell, Walter and his wife, Shirley, Helen and her husband, Richard Knowlton, David and his wife, Cheryl, and Mary and her husband, Aakon Ellis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Viola Brooks; sister-in-law, Lucy and Dick Beatham; and brother-in-law, Tony Hincks. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Sherm; Joanne Lambert; her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Her family gratefully thanks the staff of Golden Acres, Surry, for all the excellent care, love and support during her time with them.
Effie requested no formal ceremony. A gathering celebrating and honoring her life will be held 1-4 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the home of her son, Walter, 131 Johnson Mill Road, Orrington.
