MORRILL – Evelyn Cross, 93, passed away peacefully May 14, 2012, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Belfast, to Stillman and Mauny Flood.

Evelyn married Keith Cross of Morrill in 1936. Being a farmer’s wife, she encompassed many factors. She was not just a mother of seven – she was a cook, housewife, nurse, seamstress, decorator, farmhand and still had time to be a friend. Evelyn worked hard at whatever she did, including quilts she helped make, up to a few days before she passed. Leading up to her final years, Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and bingo as hobbies. She and Keith took many trips, including to Hawaii and two cross-country road trips. She raised six of the seven children to adulthood and was surrounded by her children, 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren in their house in Morrill, where she and Keith lived together for 70 years.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Keith Cross; son, Harrison; and grandson, Timmy Black. She is survived by her main caregiver and youngest daughter, Connie Butler and husband, Duane; son, Gerald Cross and wife, JoAnn; and daughters, Joan Bowen and husband, Phil, Nancy Black, Marie Blaisdell, and Winnie Mucklow and husband, Bryon.

Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Morrill Baptist Church with the Rev. Culbertson officiating. Interment will be afterward at Morrill Village Cemetery.
