AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Democratic Party says Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will deliver the keynote address at the Maine party’s state convention in Augusta next month.

The convention runs June 1-3. O’Malley will speak on June 2.

O’Malley, a rising star in the Democratic Party and Democratic Governors Association chair, is serving his second term as governor of Maryland. He previously served as mayor of Baltimore for six years.

  1. Say, is the BDN going to cover the hoo-hah over Barack Obama’s 1991 publisher’s biographical sketch where it was stated (presumably with Obama’s knowledge) that he was born in Kenya?

I’m betting on a pained silence, myself.

    1. Given that Obama’s birth was reported and recorded to the Embassy in Nairobi, his residence as a U.S citizen in Indonesia recorded as required, and officially recorded in Honolulu when his family came home to the U.S., there really isin’t much to hoo-hah over. The only thing left is just how long this subject is gonna be dragged out like the cat every night. Given how desperate that both ALEC, Crossroads, Americans for Prosperity and MHPC, among others, are for distraction material, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Heck, even Trump finally figured this one out as a loser issue. Anyone still see The Donald making waves anymore ?

      1. The issue here isn’t where he was born but that in 2008 the media was so incurious about his history that they never noticed a very available and presumably Obama-approved statement that he was born in Kenya, or asked why he’d claimed that when he was now claiming to have been born in Hawaii. It’s not about Obama, in other words, but about a media that didn’t do its job – as the BDN continues not to do.

Incidentally, “Given that Obama’s birth was reported and recorded to the Embassy in Nairobi….” Where did that come from?
