HERMON – Beatrice “Bea” M. Doughty passed away May 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. She was born July 6, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Leslie and Lillian (Robbins) Masson.

Bea was raised and lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., until moving to Hermon with her family in 1957. She worked for the state of Maine as a medical secretary until she retired in 1998, after 31 years of service. After retirement her family, especially her granddaughters, became her life.

Bea is survived by her son, Clifford Doughty Jr.; daughter and husband, Cathy and Jerry Fratini; brother and wife, Leslie Masson Jr. and Faye; and two very special granddaughters, Shanna and Kasey Fratini, all of Hermon; several aunts, a niece and cousins; and two special friends, Marilyn French and Bobbie Grotton.

A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of service Monday. Condolences to the family may be expressed at
