PORTLAND, Maine — A vehicle that was reported stolen earlier this month was found in Casco Bay and will be recovered later Wednesday, according to police.

A 1994 Cadillac was reported stolen from Casco Street on May 10, according to police Lt. Gary Rogers, and the vehicle was discovered in the water Monday.

Portland Police Dive Team members found the car while searching for missing Harvard graduate Nathan Bihlmaier, who was found dead Tuesday, according to Rogers.

The vehicle, which is in 25 feet of water near the end of Maine Wharf, was not removed from the water sooner because police were focusing on the search for Bihlmaier.

Rogers said the stolen vehicle case is unrelated to Bihlmaier’s disappearance.
