PEMBROKE – Carolyn Joyce (Clark) Dudley, 83, passed away May 23, 2012, at a Bangor hospital after a long period of declining health. She was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Pembroke, the youngest daughter of Benjamin W. and Lelia Mabel (Leighton) Clark.

She graduated from Pembroke High School in 1944 and served as a treasurer for the town of Pembroke for many years. Carolyn was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She was a wonderful cook, and was well known for her homemade bread, cakes and popcorn balls. She enjoyed participating in the Pembroke Fourth of July Flea Market for several years, and also enjoyed her home overlooking the Pennamaquan River.

She is survived by her children, Linda M. Church of Pembroke, Carol E. Hall and husband, Frank “Peter,” of Jonesport, and James A. Dudley and wife, Florence, of Edmunds; sister, Eleanor Hersey of Machias; grandchildren, Michael Church, Andrea Mahar and companion, Conrad, Peter Mahar Jr. and wife, Frith-Ann, Melissa McLean and husband, Fred, Tabitha Emery and husband, Randy, Amanda Mosher and husband, Dave, Mallory Fletcher and husband, John, and Dan Mower; former granddaughter-in-law, Juliane Row; stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Viani and husband, Michael, and Aaron Hall; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Mower, Miranda McLean, Katlyn and Peter Mahar III, Willow and Autumn Emery; great-stepgrandchildren, Jaeden, Julia and Brogen Viani, Jacob Cardosi, Felicia Murphy, and Brytania Murphy; her feline companion Chica; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Russell Dudley; brothers and sisters and spouses, Lena and Harry Chandler, Philip and Marguerite Clark, Wesley and Ruthella Clark, Berla and Charles Putney, Ethel and Kenneth Johnson, Aubrey Hersey, Bertram and Evelyn Clark, and Rachel and Junius “Dune” Mills; and daughter-in-law, Diane Dudley.

A funeral service will be held noon Saturday, June 2, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias.
