America’s children can sleep better tonight. Baby polar bears around Hudson Bay are not drowning. A recent Canadian study of these “vulnerable” animals has shown that they’re doing very nicely, thank you. There’s an astonishing 66 percent more of them around Hudson Bay than previously estimated. Another dire warning from our climate alarmists goes down the tubes.
We have been subjected to scores of grim warnings from the man-made global warming crowd: arctic sea ice disappearing, more hurricanes, more droughts, more floods, catastrophic rise in sea levels and much more, all untrue or exaggerated. The failures of these predictions are documented in peer-reviewed scientific publications, and were presented at the recent UN climate conference in Durban, South Africa, on Dec. 7, 2011.
The hypothesis of man-made global warming is now suffering a death of a thousand cuts, primarily because any effects have slowed, a fact admitted by one of the earliest and most prominent advocates, James Lovelock, who publicly recanted recently. Scientific scandals, such as the “Climategate” emails, corruption of land-based data, and the disgraceful concoction of Michael Mann’s “hockey stick” graph of world temperatures over time (featured by Al Gore in his movie) haven’t helped the cause.
Many who, for job security or other reasons, have been silent are now speaking out. We’ve seen recently a letter from 49 former NASA scientists and engineers addressed to the NASA administrator publicly urging the agency to back off its extreme position as “a bastion of climate alarmism” for which there is “a lack of empirical evidence.”
Richard Lindzen, professor of meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, gave devastating testimony to the British Parliament recently, attacking what he called the perversion of climate science.
We have been told that 97 percent of scientists support a “consensus” of man-made global warming, obtained through a survey of 77 anonymous individuals who were simply asked if the Earth had warmed since 1950. Of course it has, as part of a natural cycle many of us would say. We have been fed shameless propaganda, of which we have had enough.
Vaclav Klaus, noted economist and President of the Czech Republic addressed the Heartland Institute Climate Change Conference on May 22. He lived under socialism for many years and knows their ways all too well.
“Their ideas are the ideas of ideologues, not of scientists … data … will never change their views … We have to accept that they have succeeded in establishing environmentalism as the official religion of Western society,” he said.
On June 20-22 the United Nations will sponsor in Rio de Janeiro, Rio+20, a Conference on Sustainable Development to celebrate 20 years of doomsday predictions, all necessitating drastic cutbacks on our use of fossil fuels and, by the way, the need to transfer billions of dollars from the developed countries to poorer nations.
Christine Stewart, former Canadian Minister of the Environment (Liberal) admits their motive: “No matter if the science of global warming is all phony … climate change provides the greatest opportunity to bring about justice and equality in the world.” That’s all you need to know.
Should the well-being of our country be severely damaged by following the pitchmen of dubious science and Extreme Green? You will see ominous reports out of Rio. Ignore them.

A very good letter and a very accurate assessment of the fraud that was global warming and now climate change.
Dream on Alan Boone, I could give you a litany of cherry-picked points to counter much of what you contend here. The reality is that there are multiple factors in play when it comes to climate change, of which mankind’s industriousness is but one. Stubborn oblivion won’t yield any useful answers in that regard.
There are also multiple countries involved in our slice of that, too…not just the Evil U. S. of A.

Well stated and true. Global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the wealthy and powerful in order to promote and fund a one-world government. And so many uneducated and misinformed are on the bandwagon, while so many of the educated in the scientific world are jumping off.
These frauds who pray at the alter of Al Gore need to be outed, there grants denied and exposed as the criminals that they are. Millions of jobs and billions of dollars have been lost on this completely fabricated line of bull.
