PORTLAND, Maine — A Maine brewery says it’s hooking up with a California winery to expand its sales in that state.
Shipyard Brewing Co. in Portland says Fess Parker Winery has agreed to distribute Shipyard products to stores and restaurants throughout California.
Shipyard sells about 40,000 cases a year in California, and hopes to boost that number by 25 percent with the new agreement.
Sales and marketing director Bruce Forsley told the Portland Press Herald that Shipyard began working with the winery about four years ago when Shipyard’s distribution company began marketing Fess Parker wines in northern New England.

Hooray for Maine businesses doing well.
They would do a lot better if they mande good beer.
I would argue that they do make several good beers.
And I would argue you don’t know good beer. There are some fine brewers in this state and shipyard isn’t one. They pump out the same generic stuff and slap a different sticker on it.
I must confess shipyard is not my favorite, but they do make good beers. Old Thumper, Blue Fin Stout and their summer beer is great.
Like em or not , Maine company doing well is always a good thing.
So happy that specialty crafts are starting to get the recognition they deserve. Not to mention the fact that this brew comes from the great state of Maine and will provide jobs to many needing them.
